Installing a disc golf course in your community is an affordable way to increase outdoor recreation, exercise, and community engagement. Disc golf is easy to learn, low-cost to play, and accessible to people of all ages and skill levels. A course can be integrated into existing parks and open spaces with minimal environmental impact, encouraging healthy outdoor activity for years to come.
On average, a single round includes about 3,800 steps, burns roughly 400 calories, and keeps players outdoors for more than 90 minutes. According to the UDisc 2026 Disc Golf Growth Report, more than 21 million rounds of disc golf were recorded in 2025, and participation has grown by over 80% since 2020. By installing a quality disc golf course, your community gains a long-term recreational asset that attracts visitors, supports local businesses, and provides a unique way for residents to stay active and enjoy the outdoors.
Philip Romney - Founder
Philip Romney specializes in designing elite-quality disc golf courses that balance strategic challenge, environmental stewardship, and long-term community value.
For more than seven years, Philip has designed courses throughout Utah, Idaho, and Washington. Years of tournament competition have given him firsthand insight into what separates a memorable course from an average one, influencing every aspect of his design process. He has competed professionally since 2024, and his current PDGA rating of 997 places him among the top 10 disc golf professionals in Utah. Philip is currently studying Landscape Architecture at Utah State University, where he continues to develop his understanding of sustainable design, site planning, and recreational spaces.
Philip has worked with cities, state parks, universities, and private landowners to create everything from beginner-friendly community courses to championship-caliber layouts. He believes every course should provide a safe, enjoyable, and strategically rewarding experience while remaining memorable, sustainable, and complementary to the surrounding landscape.
Raised in Twin Falls, Idaho, Philip began playing disc golf at age nine. From 2022 to 2024, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in eastern Canada. His passion for both the sport and thoughtful design continues to drive his mission of creating courses that serve communities and inspire players for generations.
